B CORP - “Join the Movement” film

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

The B Corp community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of more high quality jobs with dignity and purpose. By harnessing the power of business, B Corps use profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment.

Omni have been proudly certified as a B Corp since 2018, and were delighted to be asked by B Lab UK to present our ideas as part of a pitch to produce an engagement film that inspires business leaders to join the B Corp movement by certifying their businesses.


The brief was a challenging one - to convey the seriousness of the issues facing people and planet whilst maintaining a positive, welcoming tone of voice. Ultimately it was essential to talk of the collective responsibility of the wider business community without pointing the finger and move forward with the conviction that every business has the potential to embrace change and be better. 

In order to encourage as many prospective CEO’s as possible, the intention was to reach out to all business leaders, (not just those who were already aware of B Corps or considering certification). The tone of voice therefore being to encourage the target audience to reflect on any past decisions that may have had a detrimental impact on people and planet, and ask them to look at their business model differently moving forward.

When developing the script inhouse, we referred to this to B Corps as the ‘B Corps Epiphany’ - not necessarily presented as a sudden realisation but certainly a transformative one. We decided that this notion would provide the foundation for our setting in which a CEO, at the height of their success, posing for the corporate portrait realises that perhaps there’s more than just profits alone to be lauded for, and that their legacy to future generations and the planet is vital, now more so than ever given that according to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) we have just 12 years left to limit the climate change catastrophe.
