Based on a true story. In 1609, en route to Virginia, the Sea Venture and the accompanying Catch were caught in a deadly hurricane. To protect those aboard the Sea Venture, the towline between the ships was severed, leaving both vessels to face the storm alone, and the survivors to live with the decision.
